About the calculators
Every calculator states its assumptions — rates, compounding, terms — next to its results. They are deliberately simple models: each exists to make one piece of arithmetic honest and visible, not to simulate your full financial life. Before acting on any output, rerun the numbers with your actual rates and terms from your own lender, bank, or provider rather than our defaults.
Third-party sites and products
Where we link to external sites, data sources, or financial products, we control neither their content nor their terms, and terms change without notice. Verify current rates, fees, and conditions directly with the provider before acting. Some links may be affiliate links; how that works — and how it is kept separate from editorial judgment — is described in our affiliate disclosure.
Figures, dates, and corrections
External figures (interest rates, contribution limits, tax thresholds) carry a source and a date in the text and are reviewed at least annually; computed figures come from our own verified calculators. When we get something wrong, we say so: material errors are corrected within 48 hours of verification and noted on the page, per our editorial and corrections policy. If you spot an error, please report it — corrections are our top-priority mail.
